services to the medical, physics, and environmental health fields

the company
Far West Technology, Inc. is a high technology company. It designs,
manufactures and distributes radiation measuring devices. It was
founded in 1971 as a small business and has expanded every year.
Health Physics Instruments merged with Far West Technology in
1987 and was founded in 1972.
FWT is heavily involved with three different product lines dealing
with three different markets: chemical dosimetry for radiation
processing, detectors for precision measurements, and instruments
for radiation safety. This diversity has helped to assure its
continued growth and stability.
Each of the three product lines is represented by specialists
in chemistry, mechanics and electronics. They work together not
only to develop new products and ideas but also to assure quality
manufacturing. Their collective broad expertise has made the company
strong and resilient.

Financial
and Facilities
Far West Technology is an employee owned, privately held company.
It is located in Goleta, California which is near Santa Barbara
and about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. The 6000 sq ft facility
contains an R&D lab, machine shop, source range, and several
manufacturing areas.
